Profile photography for norfolk law firm

It was a real pleasure to be asked by Hayes & Storr to photograph new profile images of their partners and staff for a revised ‘people’ section on their website. The brief was to create photos in a modern, relaxed style that ensured the firm came across exactly as it is, friendly, approachable and professional. The images had to be able to be used on the website and also for the various situations where partners and staff would need to provide photos for other purposes, for example a news story or when they were speaking at an event. Importantly, the individuals themselves also had to be comfortable and confident in the images produced.

The north and west Norfolk law firm have offices in a number of the county’s towns, and a significant number of personnel that needed to have profile images made. So, with their amazingly efficient and friendly Marketing Manager, Emma, we arranged a series of days when appointments could be made with all, or most, of the staff at an individual office in a single session. We also took time to look for good backgrounds for the photos, ones that could be far enough away to bring out the individual in the foreground, and not overly distracting. Given typically changeable weather, we had to adapt to these backgrounds being inside as well as out (the original choice). But we found them and they worked really well.

Emma and I also took the conscious decision together to have the images in black and white. Not only does this give them a modern feel, but it unifies the photographs as one distinct set of profile images despite them necessarily being taken with varying backgrounds. Final toning and treatment of the images was also important here. And to ensure that individuals were confident and happy with their photos, we made sure that we re-shot specific photos where that was necessary.

The end result is, I hope, a great set of photos of a great set of people – I’m certainly very pleased with them. And were Hayes & Storr happy too? Well, this is what Emma kindly commented afterwards, and which I’m grateful to her for allowing me to share: “We commissioned Keith to provide a new set of portraits for our website. we wanted photographs with personality that capture the individual characteristics of our team. Keith achieved that objective and we are delighted with the results”

The Hayes & Storr website with the new images on their people page is here. And below are a few of the images I took as a short slideshow.

If I can be of any help to any other organisations in regard to their profile imagery, please do get in touch.
