Models and MUA required for a shoot supporting a domestic abuse charity.

Models with some acting experience are required for an upcoming collaborative photography project which aims to tell a positive story about how domestic abuse can be survived and overcome.

I am shooting for a client which is a Norfolk based registered charity that supports women affected by domestic abuse and the shoot(s) will take place in West/North Norfolk. The project requires seven female models ranging in age from eighteen to mid-sixties, and one MUA to work with the photographer and models on the day. Any female models are welcome to apply (height and size irrelevant) but some acting experience is helpful in order to achieve the required emotional context to the shoot. A commitment to the seriousness of the project and its subject matter is also vital for this job.

The aim of the shoot(s) is to create two sets of photos. One will show the journey – via a short series of photographs – of a single survivor of domestic abuse from their negative experience through to their positive experience. The second will be a series of positive images of survivors of abuse.

Both sets of images will use phrases provided by the charity (from real survivors of domestic abuse) written on to parts of the model’s body, concentrating on the face and upper body (d├ęcolletage, upper chest, shoulders, upper back etc). However, models should be aware that, in order to get clean shots of these parts of the body with the writing on them, they will not be able to wear anything that intrudes into the shot. So something like a tight bandeau type top may prove to be fine but if they arrive in a blouse, for instance, they may be asked to remove it for the shot. Given the purpose of the shoot, and the use that both the charity and the photographer wish to make of the photos, models can be assured that the final images will be very sensitively composed.

This job is unpaid. Your time will be reimbursed by photos from the shoot and an invitation to an expected exhibition of the photos in 2021. And you will (as the photographer also will) hopefully be pleased to be kindly donating your time and skill to this vitally important charity.

It will be necessary for models to transport themselves to North/West Norfolk and the shoot is likely to take place towards the end of October or beginning of November. The venue and precise dates are yet to be determined.

If you are interested in participating in this project, please complete and submit the form below. The closing date for applications is 11pm on Sunday 11 October 2020 and we will advise successful applicants shortly afterwards..
